THE TONEMASTERS BIOGRAPHY

The Tonemasters

Originally formed in 2006, Craig Dunn (Drums/Vocals), Julian Bailey (Double Bass/Vocals) and John Plummer (Guitar/ Vocals) have strived to ensure that The Tonemasters are now one of the UK’s major forces on today’s live music scene.

Starting out in pubs and small sweaty rock clubs, the band have performed anywhere and everywhere in between, continually improving the tightness and togetherness of the Band to the present day where they now perform at all manner of prestigious venues and events.

Selected Pubs and Rock Venues are still on the heavy gig schedule, but The Tonemasters are most at home on the ‘Festival’ stage performing in front of large appreciative audiences who ‘get’ what the Tonemasters are about.

The Tonemasters primarily take their influence from the Original Rock n Roll and Rockabilly artists of the mid to late 1950’s, but they somehow manage to blend into their rockin’ sound everything from Country and Rockin’ Blues to New Wave Punk and even 80’s Ska to give them a modern fiery edge - a feat not easily achieved, but somehow it seems effortless to this explosive power trio.

Mixing their own self penned infectious original songs with carefully chosen covers, there is no shortage of surprises in each and every show. Infact, no set list has ever been repeated on two consecutive shows, so always expect the unexpected!

Not restricting themselves to just the UK, The Tonemasters have headlined festivals in Europe, taking in Countries such as Latvia and Estonia on their many and varied travels. Interest is also now gathering momentum from America as the ‘Tonemasters’ word travels far and wide.

In 2009, The Tonemasters performed somewhere in the region of 130 shows in the UK and Europe, making them one of the busiest working bands from the UK. Surely all those promoters and the continually increasing fan base can’t be wrong?

As their first CD release ‘taking it to the masses’ received critical media acclaim and under the watchful eye and technical leadership of guitarist John Plummer, it was a natural progression for the Tonemasters to complete the construction of their own state of the art recording studio. As well as an outstanding Band to see live, The Tonemasters can now ensure a continuation of exciting recording projects for many years to come. J
